STATE OF ALABAMA )( COUNTY OF BALDWIN )( The City Council met in a Work Session at 5:15 p.m., City Hall , Delchamps Room , 161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on Monday, 28 June 2010. Present were: Present were Council President Lonnie L. Mixon, Councilmembers : Debbie W. Quinn, Daniel Stankoski, Michael A. Ford, and Rick Kingrea, Mayor Timothy M. Kant, City Clerk Lisa A. Hanks . City Attorney Marion E . Wynne was absent. Council President Mixon called the meeting to order at 5: 15 p.m. The following topics were discussed: • Dan Stankoski and Sherry discussed the proposed Fee Waiver Resolution and stated that the City has waived approximately $82,000 for private and non-profit organizations. Rick Kingrea mentioned the need for police fees to be included ; and Debbie Quinn questioned paragraph 1 regarding must benefit a Fairhope based organization and why not all of Baldwin County such as the Lighthouse. • Dan Stankoski addressed the Noise Ordinance and had several calls regarding it not being enforced: any device plainly audible gives a warning, but what about the next Friday; special events application must be approved by City and required security by Police Department; Memorial Day application was not followed by the ordinance ; and a private school application 's approval questioned. Several individuals spoke regarding the need for an ordinance that can be enforced. • Gregg Mims mentioned the Sales & Use Tax Resolution on the agenda and changing will save the City money. • Chief Press addressed the following items: 1) Traffic Light on Fairhope A venue -Requested an independent traffic study 2) Procedure on Liquor Licenses -An open forum on any alcoholic beverage license and would like to change our ordinance. 3) Alarm Ordinance -Requested Council to look at adopting new ordinance with more teeth due to alarm issue .. • Work Session Monday, 28 June 2010 Page-2- • Eddie Tyler, Assistant Superintendent for Baldwin County Public Schools , addressed the letter sent from JaNay Dawson to Mayor Kant regarding the K-1 Center for upgrades . There being no further business to come before the City Council , the meeting was duly adjourned at 5:52 p.m.
