Notice is here by given of a special meeting of the City Council of the City
of Fairhope, A labama, to be held at the Fairhope Municipal Complex on
Wednes day, l August 2012, at 8:30 a.m ., for the purpose to :
1. Award Bid for bleachers -Barnwell
2. Fai rhope American AAA All-Stars sponsor to
Dixie Youth World Series
3. Accept FAA Grant for the H.L. 'S onny" Callahan Airport

The City Council , City of Pairhope, met in Special Session at
8 :30 p.m., F a irhope M unicipal Complex Council Chambers,
16 l North Section tre el Fairhope , Alabama 36532, on
Wednesday, August 1, 2 0 12 .

Present were Council President Lo1mie L. Mixon, Counci lmembers: Daniel
Stankoski , Debbie W. Quinn and Rick Kingrea, Mayor Timothy M. Kant, City
Attorney Marion E. Wynne, and Assistant City Clerk Candace G. Antinarella.
Councilmember Michael A. Ford and City Clerk Lisa A. Hanks were absent.
The re being a quornm present, Council President Mixon called the meeting to
order.
Council President Mixon congratulated the Fairhope American AAA A ll-Star
team on their accomplishments and wish them luck in the World Series. Mr. Mixon
stated that heITy Sulli v an had funds left over from the toumament recently held in
Fairhope. He recommended giving $7,500 to the team to assist with lodging
expenses.
Councilmcmber Quinn moved to gi v e $7,500 to the Fairhope American AAA
All-Stars. Seconde d by Councilmember Stankoski, motion passed unanimously by
voice vote. The mone y will not go directly to the hotel but into the "big pot" of funds
for the team 's expenses.

City Administrator Mims addressed th e City Council and briefly explained the
two n.:;maining Agenda It m s to the City Council.
Councilmembcr Stankoski introduced in writing, and moved for the adoption
of the follov,,ing resolution, a resolution to award Bid No. 027-12 , Bleachers for
Barnwel l Football Fields to Outdoor Aluminum , Inc. with a total bid proposal of
56,400.00 Seconded by Councilmember Quinn, motion passed unanimously by
voice vote.

City of Fairhope offices , Fairhope , Alabama .
[2] At the appointed time and place , th e following bids were opened and tabulated as follows:

WHEREAS , the purpo se of thi s grant is that th e Federal Aviation Administration pay a 90% share of
the a ll owab le costs incu rred in accomp lishin g sai d project; and
WHEREAS. thi s offe r of th e Federa l Aviation Admi ni str at ion is contingent upon acceptance of the
granr in accordance with it · terms, namely and inc luding , among others , the "Terms and Condition s of
Accep tin g A iq)ort lmproveme nt Pro gram Grants" dated April 13 , 2012; and
WHERE AS , the grant application was ori g in a ll y processed with the recipient to be the City of
Fairhope, Alabama; and
WHEREAS, durin g th e pcn dcnc y of the processing of the gra nt , the City of Fairhope ha s fully
cooperated in the creation of a new en tit y to own and control the 1-1 .L. ("Sonny''] Callahan Airport in
Fairhope by the newl y-crea ted rairhope Airport Authority ; and
WH EREAS. the transfe rrin g or the propertie s and assets and li ab ilities concernin g the H .L. ("Sonny")
Call ahan Airp ort in r a irhopc is still to some extent in progress; and
WHEREAS . the Federal Aviat io n administration retain s th e ri ght to approve any su ch transfer from th e
ity to the Airport Authority o f s uch asse ts and liabiliti es of and pertaining to an airport such as H.L.
