HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-407ORDINANCE NO. 407 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIR- HOPTE THAT: Section 1. That R. C. Macon, mayor of the City of Fair - hope be and he is hereby required to act as Superintendent of the Municipal water system and as Superintendent of the Municipal light and power system and as Superintendent of the Municipal gas system, and as such he shall serve as Purchasing Agent for such systems, make­allpUrhhases authorized by the City Council there- for, keep a check on meter readings and billings for services and collections thereof, see that the sustems are kept in proper re- pair and operation, keep an inventory showing the supplies and equipment on hand for such systems, keep a full and complete montt financial statement of all operating costs and receipts, keep a proper inventory of the physical assets of such systems, and have all such data and information relative to such systems available for the City Council on its first meetings of each calendar month, Section 2. That in addition to the salary now fixed and paid to the said Mayor of the City of Fairhope under the generdl law of the State, there shall be paid to R. C. Macon, as Superin- tendent of the Water system for the services required of him in section 1, hereof, the sum of ONE HUNDRED ($100.00) DOLLARS per month, payable as other City employees are paid out of the receipl of such water system; and as Superintent of the light and power system for the services required of him in Section 1, hereof, the sum of ONE HUNDRED ($100.00) DOLLARS per month, payable as other City employees are paid out of the receipts of such light and powe system,fzrxtiosxsermtmnsxrsiqmi:aid and as Superintendent of the gas system for the services requited of him in Section 1, hereof, the sum of ONE HUNDRED ($100.00) DOLLARS per month, payable as other City employees are paid out of the receipts of such gas system. Section 3. The City Council of the City of Fairhope may at any regular meeting or special meeting called therefore, dis- continue the services of the Mayor as Superintendent of the Muni- cipal water system and as Superintendent of the light and power s,, tam as Superintendent of thegas system, and in the event of such discontinuance of his services as such Superintendent of such sys. tems all compensation authorized to be paid in Section 2 hereof shall lapse. Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective 1st Noi 1969 and shall expire October 1, 1972, and sooner if the present Mayor shall vacate the office. APPROVED S/ R. C.
