COUNTY OF BALDWIN )(
The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session at
6:00 p.m., Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber,
161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on
Monday. 14 March. 2016.
Present were Council President Jack Burrell, Councilmembers: Diana Brewer,
Michael A. Ford, and Kevin Boone, Mayor Timothy M. Kant, City Attorney Marion
E. Wynne, and City Clerk Lisa A. Hanks. Councilmember Rich Mueller was absent.
There being a quorum present. Council President Burrell called the meeting to
order. The invocation was given by Father Donald M. Smith, St. James Episcopal
Church, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Council President Burrell stated there was a need to add on an agenda item
after Agenda Item Number 29: a Resolution that the City approves the request of
Henry Steimle for a "Walking School Buss" project to assist teachers taking roll for
students walking to school. The building will be a small, portable kiosk which can be
moved into storage by forklift.
Councilmember Boone moved to add on the above mentioned item not on the
printed agenda. Seconded by Councilmember Ford, motion passed unanimously by
voice vote.
Councilmember Brewer moved to approve minutes of the 22 February 2016
regular meeting; minutes of the 22 February 2016, work session; minutes of the 22
February 2016, agenda meeting; and minutes of the 29 February 2016, special-called
City Council meeting. Seconded by Councilmember Boone, motion passed
unanimously by voice vote.
Mayor Kant addressed the City Council and reminded everyone about the Arts
and Crafts Festival coming up next weekend: March 18, 2016 through March 20,
2016. He announced the Annual Mayor's Golf Tournament ("FEEF Tournament")
will Thursday, March 17, 2016.
Councilmember Ford mentioned the Recreation Board and Recycling
Committee are doing well.
Councilmember Boone stated he was looking forward to the Arts and Crafts
Festival; and we need to prayer for good weather.
Councilmember Burrell thanked the staff and workers for the Arts and Crafts
Festival and all of their hard work.
