COUNTY OF BALDWIN )(
The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session at
6:00 p.m., Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber,
161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on
Tuesday. 15 May 2018.
Present were Council President Jack Burrell, Councilmembers: Jay Robinson,
Jimmy Conyers, Robert Brown, and Keyin Boone, City Attorney Marcus E.
McDowell, and City Clerk Lisa A. Hanks. Mayor Karin Wilson was absent.
There being a quorum present. Council President Burrell called the meeting to
order. The inyocation was giyen by Rick Malugani, Pastor of Fairhope Christian
Church, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Council President Burrell stated there was a need to add on two agenda items
after Agenda Item Number 19: an Ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 1613 to
protect the Public Health, Safety and Welfare by proyiding Policy and Procedure for
Park Beach Entrance Fee at Fairhope's bay front within the City of Fairhope; a
Resolution that the City of Fairhope has yoted to procure an Electrician for the
Fairhope Docks to furnish and install all labor and electrical equipment for the new
fueling system; and; and the labor and equipment are ayailable for direct procurement
through the National Joint Powers Alliance ("NJPA") [Contract No. 022217-SYS];
and therefore, does not haye to be let out for bid. This has been nationally bid
through the NJPA's bid process. The cost will be $7,795.00; and the budget to be
amended for this unbudgeted item.
Councilmember Boone moyed to add on the aboye-mentioned item not on the
printed agenda. Seconded by Councilmember Brown, motion passed unanimously by
yoice yote.
Councilmember Boone moyed to approye minutes of the 23 April 2018,
regular meeting; minutes of the 23 April 2018, work session; and minutes of the 23
April 2018, agenda meeting. Seconded by Councilmember Conyers, motion passed
unanimously by yoice yote.
Lynn Maser addressed the City Council on behalf of Mayor Wilson regarding
the following items:
1) Announced that Mayor Wilson is attending Infrastructure Week in Washington, D.C.;
2) Congratulated Jeff Williams for obtaining his Golf Management Degree;
3) Painting of the Water Tank is moving forward, but we need to conserve water at this
time. The tank holds 2.0 million water we do not have right now.
4) Forty percent of all weekends have been booked for next year at the Nix Center.
