COUNTY OF BALDWIN )(
The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session at
6:00 p.m., Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber,
161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on
Wednesday. 13 November 2019.
Present were Council President Pro Tempore Jay Robinson, Councilmembers:
Jimmy Conyers and Robert Brown, City Attorney Marcus E. McDowell, and City
Clerk Lisa A. Hanks. Council President Jack Burrell, Councilmember Kevin Boone,
and Mayor Karin Wilson were absent.
There being a quorum present, Council President Pro Tempore Robinson
called the meeting to order. The invocation was given by John Martin, Pastor of
Celebration Church, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Council President Pro Tempore Robinson announced that Agenda Items
Number 6 and Number 7 were pulled by the Owners and asked to move to the next
agenda (November 25, 2019). He said Item Number 10 was pulled for updates to the
resolution.
Council President Pro Tempore Robinson stated there was a need to add on an
agenda item after Agenda Item Number 26: a Resolution to Award Bid Number 007-
20 for Site Work and Retaining Wall for Electric Substation at Nichols Avenue and
Young Street for the Electric Department to Kahlbau Construction, LLC, with a total
bid proposal of $244,795.00.
Councilmember Brown moved to add on the above-mentioned item not on the
printed agenda. Seconded by Councilmember Conyers, motion passed unanimously
by voice vote.
Councilmember Conyers moved to approve minutes of the 28 October 2019,
regular meeting; minutes of the 28 October 2019, work session; minutes of the 28
October 2019, agenda meeting; and minutes 31 October 2019 special-called meeting.
Seconded by Councilmember Brown, motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
Lynn Maser addressed the City Council and gave the following report for
Mayor Wilson:
1. This year marks Alabama's 200'^ anniversary. The Alabama Department of Archives &.
History is sponsoring We the People: Alabama's Defining Documents. This bicentennial
exhibition of Alabama's 6 versions of the state constitution is accompanied by other special
exhibitions in Montgomery at the Museum of Alabama at the Department of Archives &
History from November 3'^'' to December 2T'. We encourage you to go see the exhibition
and learn more about our home state.
