HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-10-2019 Regular Meeting MinutesSTATE OF ALABAMA )( COLTNTY OF BALDWIN )( The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session at 6:00 p.m., Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber, 161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on Monday. 10 June 2019. Present were Council President Pro Tempore Jay Robinson, Councilmembers: Jimmy Conyers, Robert Brown, and Kevin Boone, City Attorney Marcus E. McDowell, and City Clerk Lisa A. Hanks. Council President Jack Burrell and Mayor Karin Wilson were absent. There being a quorum present, Council President Pro Tempore Robinson called the meeting to order. The invocation was given by Councilmember Kevin Boone and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Council President Pro Tempore Robinson announced that Agenda Items Number 8, Number 9, and Number 12 have been pulled from the Agenda. Councilmember Conyers moved to approve minutes of the 29 May 2019, regular meeting; minutes of the 29 May 2019, work session; and minutes of the 29 May 2019, agenda meeting. Seconded by Councilmember Boone, motion passed unanimously by voice vote. Lynn Maser addressed the City Council and gave the Mayor's Report. Ms. Maser mentioned Glow in the Park with Mary Poppins Returns; and Men's Health Month with PSA Screenings and Colorectal Kits at the James P. Nix Center on June 12,2019. Councilmember Conyers recognized the City of Fairhope's Junior City Council members in attendance. He also announced Auburn being in the College World Series; and said, "War Eagle." Councilmember Conyers moved for final adoption of Ordinance No. 1650. an ordinance to amend Zoning Ordinance No. 1253 and to zone the property of The Teachers' Retirement Systems of Alabama to Tourist Resort (TR) concurrent with annexation into the City of Fairhope. This property is generally located west of S. Section Street and the south side of Twin Beech Road, Fairhope, Alabama. PPIN Numbers: 5499, 20948, 286294, and 63314. The property to be known as Colonv at the Grand with parcel containing 99.15 acres, more or less. (Introduced at the May 29, 2019 City Council Meeting) Seconded by Councilmember Brown, motion for final adoption passed by the following voice votes: AYE - Robinson, Conyers, Brown, and Boone. NAY - None.
