COUNTY OF BALDWIN )(
The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session at
6:00 p.m., Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber,
161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on
Monday. 8 July 2019.
Present were Council President Jack Burrell, Councilmembers: Jay Robinson,
Jimmy Conyers, Robert Brown, and Keyin Boone, Mayor Karin Wilson, City
Attorney Marcus E. McDowell, and City Clerk Lisa A. Hanks.
There being a quorum present, Council President Burrell called the meeting to
order 6:05 p.m. The inyocation was giyen by Pastor William Parsons of Redeemer
Lutheran Church, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Councilmember Brown
moyed to approye minutes of the 24 June 2019, regular meeting; minutes of the 24
June 2019, work session; and minutes of the 24 June 2019, agenda meeting.
Seconded by Councilmember Boone, motion passed unanimously by yoice yote.
Mayor Wilson addressed the City Council with the following Power Point
Presentation found at the end of the minutes.
Councilmember Conyers stated he echoed Mayor Wilson regarding the
Fairhope Volunteer Fire Department with the amazing fireworks show and they are
appreciated.
Councilmember Brown thanked the Fairhope Police Department and the
Fairhope Volunteer Fire Department for the fireworks show.
Councilmember Boone also thanked the Fairhope Police Department and the
Fairhope Volunteer Fire Department for the fireworks show.
Council President Burrell asked eyeryone to remember Mike Dayis and said
he will be sorely missed. He commented we send sincere thoughts to the family.
Councilmember Boone introduced in writing, and moyed for the adoption of
the following resolution, a resolution that the City Council approyes the selection of
the Goyemment & Economic Deyelopment Institute (GEDI) with Auburn Uniyersity
for Professional Consulting Seryices for First Phase of the Auburn Personnel System
Project which includes updating all job descriptions, grades, making them compliant
with Federal Law and more; and hereby authorizes Mayor Karin Wilson to execute a
contract with a not to exceed $60,000.00. Seconded by Councilmember Conyers,
motion passed unanimously by yoice yote.
