HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-10-2020 City Council Meeting MinutesSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session at 6:00 p.m., Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber, 161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on Monday. 10 February 2020. Present were Council President Jack Burrell, Councilmembers: Jay Robinson, Jimmy Conyers, Robert Brown, and Keyin Boone, Mayor Karin Wilson, City Attorney Marcus E. McDowell, and City Clerk Lisa A. Hanks. There being a quorum present, Council President Burrell called the meeting to order. The inyocation was giyen by Pastor William Parsons of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Council President Burrell stated there was a need to add on an agenda item (s) after Agenda Item Number 14: a resolution to award bid for Six Oyerhead Doors for Fire Station #3 for the Fairhope Volunteer Fire Department (Bid No. 013-20) to Bailey Door, Inc. with a total bid proposal of $38,076.00. Councilmember Robinson moyed to add on the aboye-mentioned item not on the printed agenda. Seconded by Councilmember Boone, motion passed unanimously by yoice yote. Councilmember Robinson moyed to approve minutes of the 27 January 2020, regular meeting; minutes of the 27 January 2020, work session; and minutes of the 27 January 2020, agenda meeting. Seconded by Councilmember Conyers, motion passed unanimously by voice vote. Council President Burrell announced that the City received a letter last week from the applicant to table Agenda Number 5: a Public Hearing for an Ordinance to amend Zoning Ordinance No. 1253 for the request to zone the property of The Retirement Systems of Alabama to Tourist Resort District concurrent with Annexation. The property is generally located on the south side of County Road 24 between Point Clear Court and Poviner Place, Fairhope, Alabama; to be known as Watershed West. PPIN Number: 282038; parcel containing 7.23 acres, more or less. He said the City Council will probably table; and traditionally the City Council grants the request. Mayor Wilson addressed the City Council with the following Power Point Presentation found at the end of the minutes.
