on Monday, 10 August 2020.
Present were Council President Pro Tempore Jay Robinson, Councilmembers: Jimmy

Council President Pro Tempore Robinson called the meeting to order at 4:31
p.m.
The following topics were discussed:
• The Discussion of the 2021 Fairhope Public Utility Electric Industrial Rate by
Operations Director Michael Allison was first on the agenda. Mr. Allison
addressed the City Council with a couple of options needed to align the
Electric Industrial/Commercial customer rates to be competitive with
surrounding Electric providers. This new Industrial Rate would apply to
customers pulling a load of 1,000 kwh or more for any interval. Mr. Allison
also would like to do a rate study on the Electric Department for next fiscal
year. Councilmember Brown, Councilmember Conyers and Council President
Pro Tempore all said they would like to see the rates adjusted after the Rate
Study next year, so they all change at one time.
• The second item on the agenda was Committee Updates. Councilmember
Conyers did not have any Committee Updates but would like to walk an item
on the Council Agenda to donate extra picnic tables that were not in use
anymore to the Rotary Youth Club and Fairhope West Elementary. Council
President Pro Tempore suggested the City ask all of our local schools if they
are in need of them. Mayor Wilson stated that the Rotary Youth Club was in
most need of the tables. Councilmember Boone reported from the Street and
Traffic Control Committee and suggested citizens slow down or calming
devices may be placed if traffic studies deem necessary.
• The third item on the agenda was Department Head Updates. Special Projects
Manager Lynn Maser stated the Mayors Toumament held at Quail Creek Golf
Course went well and the golf course is projected to have 40,000 rounds by
the end of 2020. Ms. Maser said she will be working with the new Golf
Professional, Bryan Williamson to develop plans to increase revenue. Ms.
Maser provided an update on the work being done at the Fairhope Docks as
well as current occupancy and reviewed the wait list for dry storage.
