The Harbor Board met at 4:30 p.m.,
Mayor's Conference Room,
161 N Section St .
Fairhope, Alabama 36532
on Wednesday, October 8, 2025
Members present: Mikeal Donald, Michael Nash, Skip Jones, and Chris Cunningham.
Hobart “Reed” Key, Scott Douglass, and Robert Barry were not present. City of Fairhope
staff present: Mark Reddit, Harbor Manager, Pat White, Director of Parks and Recreation
and Becky Barnard, Administrative Assistant for Parks and Recreation. Becky Barnard took
the minutes. Guest(s): Gary Gover and 2 guests from the Yacht Club.
The meeting was called to order at 4:31pm.
Minutes from October 8, 2025, meeting were presented and approved on a motion by Skip
Jones; seconded by Mikeal Donald, none opposed.
There were no Council comments.
Mark Redditt, Harbor Manager, gave report. New numbers are coming in on how the summer
has gone so far. Currently, the marina is $121 off in fuel than this time last year. Wet slips are
up to almost $20k from 2024. Looper season is better than it was at this point in 2024. The
dock store has been open for a few months and is already showing great results. A new ice
maker has been ordered for the dock store. The dredging process is currently out for big and
will end at the end of October. Currently, the Yacht Club has a dredging permit, and the city
will go in 50/50 with them.
Mark Redditt reported on Clean Marina Status: nothing new to report.
Guest, Gary Gover asked if our marina has been taken off the loopers list because of the state
of our restrooms, but Mark Redditt confirmed everything is still good and loopers are still very
active.
Skip Jones made a motion to adjourn the meeting; second by Chris Cunningham, none
opposed.
There being no further business to come before the Harbor Board, the meeting was duly
adjourned at 4:50 pm.
