City of Fairhope Parking Authority
Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, October 14, 2025, 8:00 a.m.
Fairhope Museum of History, 24 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532
Members in Attendance: Bryan Flowers, Chad Bartz, Chris Shrader, Christian
Preus Councilman Jimmy Conyers. Staff present: Chief Stephanie Hollinghead
Visitor: Gary Gover, Mack McCawley
Bryan Flowers called the meeting to order at 8:05 am.
Chad Bartz made a motion to approve the meeting minutes of September 9, 2025.
Seconded by Bryan Flowers, the motion passed unanimously.
Bryan Flowers inquired about the status of the parking study. The results of the
study have not been completed. There was discussion by the committee about
whether to have a meeting next month or delay until results have been received.
Chad Bartz recommended setting a tentative date for December, all committee
members were in favor. Councilman Conyers confirmed that the Council had not
received the parking study report.
Bryan Flowers informed the committee that he will be stepping down from the
Parking Authority in November.
Chad Bartz reaffirmed the parking authority’s priority of promoting the Arts Alley
parking deck as an underutilized resource. He suggested continuing
communicating with Paige Crawford and her team to keep communication flowing
on social media. The group agreed to continue to meet regularly while awaiting
final study results, with a focus on developing educational initiatives for existing
parking resources.
Mr. McCawley discussed the following topics:
• Changing angled parking in certain areas back to parallel
• Compact car parking in needed areas where streets are narrow
• Timed parking
Meeting was adjourned at 8:48 am
Next meeting scheduled on December 2, 2025, at 0800.
