Call to Order: 4:01 pm
Review/Approve September 2025 Meeting minutes:
September Meeting minutes approved as written
Agenda Items:
• E-bike Ordinance -Morgan/ Katie
o Chief Hollinghead presented a draft copy of an E-
13ike Ordinance for Fairhope. The current version is
based on Alabama state bicycle laws.
o Open discussion was held to determine what steps
could be taken to make the ordinance stricter than
state laws.
o Committee is to review and add suggestions.
Suggestions/revisions can be communicated to Chief
Hollinghead.
o Everyone agreed on helmets and posting s peed limits
on multi-use paths.
o Education of the population will also be essential.
• Bike Rack Update
o Eastern Shore Art Center location has been completed
o Johnny P noted that there is no longer a bike rack at
the pier after the construction was completed. He is to
follow up with Pat White to have bike racks
reinstalled there.
• Green Space Connectivity Initiative
o Connectivity through the gulley system has been put
on hold
o Looking for another opportunity for our committee to
partner with the environmental committee on a
project.
• Flying Creek Nature Preserve
o An accessibility visit was made to the preserve. And
while all agree, the Preserve is great, it is not
accessible. This is mainly due to the natural terrain.
o Chris R mentioned "track chairs" and the possibility
of the City trying to get a grant for the purchase of
some for use at the Preserve.
• He mentioned that the up-front cost is high, but it
would make the park fully accessible and able to
be enjoyed by all.
• Google Drive -access issues with current Google Drive.
Morgan will recreate and send link to everyone when
complete.
• Blue Island and Fairwood Boulevard sidewalk projects are
near completion.
• Safe Streets for All -Draft has been completed and is
pending city council and mayor approval prior to public
release.
• Recreational Facility at CR 13 & 32
o Mike Walker will present findings next meeting
• Twin Beech/ Boothe and Summer Lake/ Twin Beech
Intersections
o Data collection is complete and a draft solution is in
process.
• Back burner items
o Comprehensive Land Use Plan -Katie is on
steering committee and will keep us apprised
