Personnel Board Meeting

Present were:
Members: Terry Ullrich; Jake O’Neil; Stephanie Sandefur; Human Resource Director Hannah Noonan; Councilman Kevin Boone
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 a.m.
The June 26th meeting minutes were approved.
No old or new business was discussed.
Human Resource Director, Hannah Noonan updated the board on workers comp claims for the year. She reported 28 incidents so far in 2025, down from 47 last year, with eight workers’ compensation
claims totaling $85,562—less than half of 2024’s total. All employees have returned to work except two. She also noted successful free training programs through Coastal Alabama for skid
steer and mini excavator operation, as well as expanded substance abuse training that earned the city a five percent workers’ compensation discount.
Additional cost-saving efforts include a grant-funded traffic control technician program and a new prescription savings plan through Cobbs Allen offering zero-dollar copays and projected
10–15% health fund savings.
Upcoming events include the Benefits Fair on September 29, the employee luncheon on October 17, and the rescheduled golf tournament in spring 2026. The Fly Creek Nature Preserve grand
opening is set for Saturday morning, with parking and shuttle service from the marina.
In general discussion, members mentioned the upcoming city elections. Council Liaison Kevin Boone announced his retirement after the November meeting. The Chair noted that the absence
of recent hearings reflects smooth personnel operations and proper procedures. With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
