City of Fairhope Parking Authority
Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, September 9, 2025, 8:00 a.m.
Fairhope Museum of History, 24 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532
Members in Attendance: Bryan Flowers, Chad Bartz, Chris Shrader, Councilman
Jimmy Conyers, Kelly Gribler, Morgan Slay. Staff present: Chief Stephanie
Hollinghead, Hunter Simmons
Visitor: Gary Gover
Bryan Flowers called the meeting to order at 8:05 am.
Chris Shrader made a motion to approve the meeting minutes of May 20, 2025.
Seconded by Morgan Slay, the motion passed unanimously.
Hunter Simmons spoke on the parking study for downtown Fairhope. He explained
the study is still in progress and that the brief preliminary findings were discussed
with the City Council at a previous City Council work session. He stressed these
were preliminary findings that were not from complete recommendations. That
report will be issued soon.
The committee reaffirmed their priority of promoting the Arts Alley parking deck
as an underutilized resource. They discussed short-term, low-cost solutions like
better signage, social media promotion, and education about existing parking
options, including loading zones that become available after business hours and
school parking that opens after school hours. The group agreed to continue to meet
regularly while awaiting final study results, with a focus on developing educational
initiatives for existing parking resources.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:00 am
Next meeting scheduled on October 14, 2025, at 0800.
