Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, August 20, 2025, 3:30 p.m.
Fairhope Museum of History

Members in Attendance:
Mara Kozelsky-Hunter, Chair; Amy Molyneux, Vice Chair; Ginger Golson; Susan Stein; Gary Gover; Dannie Mixon; Skip Jones; Cindy Beaudreau, for FHPC Secretary; and Erik Cortinas, Building Official/Staff Liaison; and Jay Robinson, Councilmember absent.
Mara Kozelsky-Hunter, Chair, called meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.
Approve Minutes:
Mara Kozelsky-Hunter, Chair, asked for motion to approve the minutes of the meeting for
July 9, 2025. Skip Jones motion to approve the minutes, second by Dannie Mixon,
unanimously carried.
Chair’s Report:
• Mara Kozelsky-Hunter congratulated Amy Molyneux and Erik Cortinas on the City
Council presentation.
o Erik Cortinas will add the Fairhope Historic Structures Demolition Review
Procedures Ordinance to the September 8, 2025, City Council Meeting.
• Contact was made with Baldwin County to get access to the spreadsheet of historic
properties.
o Amy Molyneux has begun compiling a list and shared the locations and her
spreadsheet.
o Erik agreed to add his spreadsheet to the city website
• 2025/2026 calendar will be discussed during New Business.
• Walking Survey update:
o Mara Kozelsky-Hunter collected approximately 20 preliminary surveys that
were generally favorable towards encouraging historic architecture.
o Erik Cortinas noted that the City Satisfaction Survey showed a high interest in
historic preservation.
New Business:
• 2025/2026 Calendar
o Workshop on surveys
o History Day – Thursday, April 9, 2026, hand out prize during February Art
Walk
o Walking tours - each Saturday in April
o Public events

o July event celebrating 250-year anniversary of signed the Declaration of
Independence
o Susan Stein shared that the Baldwin County Historical Society has a meeting
on October 19, 2025, at 2pm, at Blakeley State Park. An historic boat tour is
available at a discounted rate of $15.00
o Gary Gover reminded the Commission that an Annual Report is due in
October to the State Historical Association
Mara Kozelsky-Hunter will put a spreadsheet together for the
September 10, 2025, meeting
Erik Cortinas will request an update from Chris Williams
o September 10, 2025, meeting will be used to prepare for the event on
November 13, 2025
o Dannie Mixon will work with ArcGIS for additional historical data

There being no further business, Ginger Golson motion to adjourn, seconded by Skip
Jones, unanimously carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:47 p.m.
