4. McCall Lugo and Ashton Feaster presented the Applications
for Tax Abatement to the Board on behalf of Segers and
Elpizo.
Christo Kok provided the Board with background and
historical information on Segers Aero Corporation. He
noted that Segers had located in Fairhope in 2008 and had
become a significant employer in Fairhope, currently providing
200 highly technical jobs.
Rick Binkley provided a briefing on operations at Segers and
explained how this abatement would help their business grow
with the proposed expansion and provide 60 new technical
careers.
Chloe Rudnicki provided a detailed A/V presentation on the
proposed new facility. She highlighted the involvement of the
City of Fairhope Planning Department in the design
development.
A question-and-answer session was provided for the Board to
gain further understanding of the issues to facilitate their
determinations. There were a few items of information that
the applicants did not have at their immediate disposal, so
once the Board obtains the requested information, the Board
will schedule an additional meeting.
Mr. Lacey thanked the Applicants for their interest.
