BE IT ORDAINED by the Town Council of Fairhope,
Alabama, as follows:
That at an election to be held on the 29th day
of July, 1935, the following proposition shall be sub-
mitted to the qualified electors of the Town of Fairhope:
"That a special tax of five mills shall be levied
on all property subject tottaxationlin the Town of Fair -
hope for the years 1935 to 1939 inclusive. So much there-
of may be used as may be necessary to cover the cost of
maintaining street lights and fire fighting equipment in
the Town of Fairhope, and the balance to be used for
improvements and maintenance of municipal property.
Be it further ordained that said election shall be
held in the council chamber of the Town of Fairhope be-
tween the hours of 8:00 A.M., and 6:00 P.M., and that
notice of the time and place of said election shall be
given as required by law.
Be it further ordained that Delia K. Bancroft
Mary H. Lee and A. L. West be appointed as Inspectors
to conduct said election; that Ben Fischer and C. M.
Brady be appointed as clerks and Nathaniel Mershon as
returning officer.
Be it further ordained that the Town Clerk shall
prepare and furnish to the election officers a ballot
substantially in words and figures as follows:
"ELECTION TO AUTHORIZE A SPECIAL TAX OF FIVE MILLS
FOR STREET LIGHTS, FIRE PROTECTION, AND STREET IMPROVE-
MENT AND MAINTENANCE IN THE TOWN OF FAIRHOPE."
That a special tax of five mills hsall be levied on
all property subject to taxation in the Town of Fairhope
for the years 1935 to 1939 inclusive. So much thereof
to be used as may be necessary to cover the costs of
maintaining street lights and fire fighting equipment
in the Town of Fairhope, and the balance to be used
for improvements and maintenance of municipial property.

That said election shall be in all respects condcu-
ted in accordance with the law governing municipal elec-
tions in the State of Alabama.
