Larry Newton Elementary; Angie Hall – Fairhope Middle; Jon Cardwell – Fairhope High Guest: Gary Gover Joe Kelley called the meeting to order and the March 5th meeting minutes were approved. Funding requests for the 2025-2026 school year were presented, discussed and voted on. All detailed requests are attached. Jon Cardwell presented the request on behalf of Fairhope High, with all items to be funded with 3-mill money (see below for breakdown). Motion to approve request as presented was made by Tricia Gunnells and seconded by David Johnson; motion passed. Motion to approve request as presented was made by Kathy Sternenberg and seconded by Joe Kelly; motion passed. Fairhope West Elementary STEAM Coach $92,671 Math Coaches (2) $196,449 Social Worker $96,514 Reading Coach $107,795 5 Part-time Instructors for Math & Reading $159,300 Instructional Aide $39,071 Professional Development $27,200 Instructional Supplies $31,000 Total $750,000 David Johnson has agreed to fill the role of commission vice-chair/chair elect for 2025. A motion was made to officially appoint David to this role by Kathy Sternenberg and was seconded by Tricia Gunnells; motion passed. The meeting was adjourned at 5:00 p.m. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 7th at 4:30 p.m. at J. Larry Newton Elementary.
