STATE OF ALABAMA X
COUNTY OF BALDWIN Z
The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session

were duly approved.
Mayor Nix was sad to announce that long-time faithful
attendee, Mr. Johnny Matthews, passed away this morning.

Mr. Carl McKeown came before Council to request permission
to put a basketball goal on the end of Laurel Street. He had
a signed statement from all the neighbors saying they did
not object to the kids practicing in the street. City Attorney
Wynne said he could only recommend that this permission not
be given by the Council because it would make the City very
liable for any accident. Mr. McKeown asked if all the neighbors
signed a hold -harmless agreement, would that make a difference.
It was explained that a point of law was involved and such
agreements would be void if an accident occurred. No one
offered to make a motion, request for permission therefore
is denied.

nating the Building/Zoning Official as the official having

within the city as provided therein. This ordinance will
be given final consideration at the next regular Council session.
