Street Supt. Tim Kant advised Council that the City's
Trash service had now been operating some 2-1/2 months and
are doing an excellent job. Schedules are being kept and
complaints are few. Mr. Kant asked for help with the
problem of homeowners clearing their own vacant lots and
leaving huge piles of trash.... holding up the trash truck
in one location for several hours. (Contractors clearing
lots must dispose of their debris themselves, under city
ordinance.) After much discussion, Council tabled the
matter for more study and later action.
A resident from Seacliff Drive complained of beach
visitors leaving debris on private property facing the
beach. She asked for help in letting visitors know that
beach area ends at high-water mark, such as putting up
signs saying "End of Public Property".
Meeting was duly adjourned at 6:11 pm.
