RESOLUTION NO. 232-87
BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Fairhope
that we go on record as strongly supporting and endorsing the
four-laning of US Hwy 98 from State Hwy 104 in Fairhope to Foley,
Alabama, and ask that the first phase start on Hwy 104 and
proceed south; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that two types of construction be con-
sidered within the Fairhope city limits: first, that consideration
be.given to a four -lane with a center median and stacking lanes
at intersections; and, second, if the cost of this type construction
would not be economically feasible or not practical from an
engineering and right-of-way acquisition standpoint, we then
recommend the five -lane urban type of construction;
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be sent to
Governor Guy Hunt, the Honorable Perry Hand, the Honorable Walter
Penry, the Honorable Steve McMillan, and Mr. Royce G. King thanking
them for their support of this project and asking them to expedite
it due to the long-standing and tremendous need for this project.
