HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-10-1984 Regular Meeting607 STATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in regular session at 5:30 o'clock, P.M., Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber, 161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on Monday, 10 September 1984. Present were Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmembers Roy C. White, Trisha Nelson, David E. Bishop, Michael A. Ford, and Barney L. Shull; City Attorney James Reid and City Clerk Evelyn Phillips. No one was absent. There being a quorum present, Mayor Nix called the meeting to order. Minutes of the 27 August 1984 regular session were duly approved. Councilman Shull moved for final adoption of Ordinance No. 747, an ordinance to establish a Park & Street Tree Committee. Seconded by Councilman Ford, motion passed unanimously. In accordance with this ordinance, Mayor Nix appointed Street Chairman Roy White and Recreation Chairman Mike Ford to serve as the 2 councilpersons on the Park & Street Tree Committee; and, as the 3 citizen members, Mayor Nix appointed Howard Wulff for a 3-year term, Joyce Stowe for a 2-year term, and Raymond Dominey for a 1-year term. The Mayor will serve as an ex-officio member. Councilwoman Nelson moved to approve these appointments. Seconded by Councilman Bishop, motion passed unanimously. Councilman White introduced, and moved for the adoption of, the following resolution. Seconded by Councilman Shull, motion passed unanimously: RESOLUTION NO. 134-84 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA, to request an extension on the AIR- PORT BOARD Note Payable No. 2128 to Central Bank of the South in Fairhope, in the principal amount of $15,000, for a One Year period at an annual interest rate of Nine per cent (9%), beginning 12 September 1984. ADOPTED THIS loth DAY OF SEPTEMER, 1984. 10 September 1984 .�: Councilwoman Nelson moved to hold a special session on Monday, October 1, 1984. This will be the Organizational Session for the new terms of office. The session will begin at 7:00 o'clock, P.M., in the Complex Council Chamber, and will be immediately followed by a reception in the Civic Center, sponsored by the Fairhope BPW Club. The Public is cordially invited to attend. Seconded by Councilman Ford, motion passed unanimously. Councilman Ford moved to approve accounts payable and budget revisions as presented.
