The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in special session at
5:00 o'clock, P.M., Fairhope Municipal Complex Council Chamber,
161 North Section Street, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, on
Thursday. 12 April 1984.
Present were Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmembers Roy C. White,
Trisha Nelson, David E. Bishop, and Michael A. Ford; City Attorney
James Reid and City Clerk Evelyn P. Phillips. Absent:
Councilman Barney L. Shull.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the bids opened at
the last regular session on 2 police cars and to hear a request
from the Airport Board.
There being a quorum present, Mayor Nix called the meeting
to order.
Mayor Nix advised that the vehicle offered by the low bidder
on the police cars did not meet specifications. Councilwoman
Nelson moved to accept the low bid which did meet specifications.
Seconded by Councilman Ford, motion passed unanimously.
The Airport Board explained that they were currently in
need of a $10,000 advance to cover invoices due on the current
FAA project. FAA funds have been applied for, however, the
remittance may fall a few days short of the due dates on the
contractor's contracts. The $10,000 would enable the Board to
timely meet their obligations and the advance could be returned
in a short time upon receipt of the FAA funds. Councilman White
moved to allow the advance. Seconded by Councilman Bishop,
motion passed unanimously.
Meeting was duly adjourned.
