Exciting Recycling Updates
for Fairhope
Residents of Fairhope can celebrate a significant improvement in
recycling convenience with the unveiling of the new Material
Recovery Facility (MRF) by the Solid Waste Disposal Authority of
Baldwin County. This cutting-edge facility aims to revolutionize
local recycling efforts with its sophisticated equipment, including
an eco-friendly machine line and a marathon baler designed for
efficient processing.
Simplified Recycling with Single-Stream System
The new single-stream recycling system brings unprecedented ease
to Fairhope residents by removing the need to sort recyclables at
home. Residents can now place paper, plastics, and metals together
in their recycling bins, trusting the MRF to expertly sort them. It is
important to remember, however, that glass items should be
taken to 555 S. Section Street for recycling.
Guidelines for Successful Recycling
To maximize the benefits of this improved recycling program,
residents are advised to refrain from including Styrofoam,
decorative gift bags, plastic bags, and most types of wrapping
paper in their recycling bins. By adhering to these guidelines, the
community can fully support these advancements and work
towards a more sustainable future.
