HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-15-1976 Unadjourned MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN (The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in unadjourned ;session at the City Administraiton Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, on September 15, 1976 at 5:15 P.M. to canvass the results of the Municipal Run-off election held on September 14, 1976. IMation by Councilman David E. Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney IL. Shull that the following Resolution be adopted: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Run -'off Municipal Election for the City of Fair 'hope, Alabama, was duly and legally held on September 14," 1976 as !provided by law, and WHEREAS, the Municipal governing body of the City of Fairhop( met on this the 15th day of September, 1976, with Mayor James P. N: Councilmen: David E. Bishop, Sam E. Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney L. Shull being present, Councilman H. G. Bishop being absent, at 5:15 P.M. and has ascertained and determined the number of votes received by each candidate, and WHEREAS, the municipal governing body has ascertained and determined the results of said election as follows: For Councilman, Place No. 3 Jack A. Stipes 543 Edwin A. Ernest III 474 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA, as follows: That JACK A. STIPES received a majority of the votes cast for the office of Councilman, Place No. 3 and is hereby duly elect- ed to that office for the term beginning on the'first Monday in October, 1976. 3;. Adopted this the 15th day of September, 1976. Mayor Attest: y' City Clerk Motion by Councilman Sam Box seconded by Councilman Barney Shull that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized.to issue check to James E. Moore, Atty. for Juanita Lee Fowler, in full settlement of Fowler vs City of Fairhope. Motion carried. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
