HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-13-1976 Regular Meetingt STATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Monday, September 13, 1976 at 7:00 P.M. with the following members present Mayor James P. Nix, Councilmen: David E. Bishop, H. G. Bishop, Sam E. Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney L. Shull. Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved. Motion by Councilman 011ie Deese seconded by Councilman Barney Shull that the application of John R. Nolte for Beer and Liquor permit at,"Nanny's Restaurant" on Morphy Avenue within the City Limits of Fairhope, be approved. Upon being put to vote the following vote was recorded: For: Councilmen: H. G. Bishop, Sam E Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney L. Shull. Against: Councilman David E. Bishop. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney L. Shull that the application of Myrtle Jordan for packaged Beer permit at River Park Grocery be approved. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Sam Box seconded by Councilman 011ie Deese that Mrs. Stephanie Montgomery, 301 Creek Drive, be appointed to the Recreation Board. Motion carried. Bids on new police car were as follows: Gaston Motor Co. $4900.00 with trade. Bill Steber Chevrolet - Unable to bid at this time. Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop that, subject to bid meeting, specifications, police car be purchased from Gaston Motor Company, 'Motion carried. Motion by Councilman David E. Bishop seconded by Councilman H. G. Bishop that a 7% pay raise be approved for all City employees effective October 1, 1976. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Sam Box that minutes of all Board meetings he sent to all Councilmen as soon as possible after each Board meeting. Motion carried. South Alabama Regional Planning has announced that the City has received tentative approval of $41,000 Grant for Sewer extension on Middle Street. Airport Board has submitted preapplication under new A.D.A.P. program recently enacted, for $776,000.00 for extensive improve- ments at the Municipal Airport at no cost to the City. County has let bids on renovation and construction of emergency unit at the old reservoir. Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Sam Box that bills be approved for payment. Motion carried.
