HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-12-1976 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF Baldwin The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Monday, January 12, 1976 at 7:00 P.M. with the following members present: Mayor James P. Nix, Councilmen: David E. Bishop, H. G. Bishop, Sam E. Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney L. Shull. Minutes of the previous regular meeting and special meeting were approved. Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney Shull that City resurface Section Street from Magnolia Avenue to Morphy Avenue from curb to main part of the street, using City crews when the Street can be prepared. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman H. G. Bishop that the City continue the sidewalk on the east side of Church Street from Fels south to Fig Street as funds become available. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman David E. Bishop that the City purchase a steam cleaning machine for city equipment. Motion carried. Mayor Nix expressed thanks to the Sundial Garden Club for the planting in front of the Police Station. Motion by Councilman Sam Box seconded by Councilman David E. Bishop that the bills be approved for payment. Motion carried. There being no further business, motion duly made, seconded and carried that the meeting adjourn. Attest NOTICE OF JOINT PUBLIC MEETING There will be a joint public meeting in conjunction with the Fairhope City Council and The Fairhope Planning Commission, on Monday, January 5, 1976 at 7:00 P. M. , at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama to discuss the request of Olympia Corte Dyas for rezoning of property from R-1 to R-31 in order to construct multi -family residences. Property described as being from the Southeast Corner of Section 5, Township 6 South, Range 2 East, Run West 2330 feet; thence run north 50 feet to the north right-of-way of Alabama Highway No. 104; thence continue north 25 feet to the point of beginning; thence continue north 320 feet; thence run N19000' W, 185 feet; thence run N800003-W, 230 feet , more or less, to the south right-of-way of the business route of U. S. Highway 98; thence run southwestwardly along said right-of-way 100 feet, thence run southeastwardly to a point that is 250 feet west of the point of beginning ; thence run east, 250 feet to the point of beginning.
