COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session
at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, on
Monday, September 11, 1972 at 7:30 P.M. with the following members
present: Mayor R. C. Macon, Councilmen: James P. Nix, John A.
Robertson, Henry G. Bishop and Sam E. Box. Councilman Robert H.
Cowen being absent,
Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved.
This being date set for opening bids on load of pipe, the follow-
ing bids were received;
bToore-Handley, Inc.
750' - 6" Pipe 2.08 ft.
60 0' - 8" of 2.96 It
200' - 8" Ductile Pipe 3.34 it
American Cast Iron_ Pipe Company
750' - 6" Pipe 2.05 ft.
600' - 8" It 2.77 "
200' - 8" ductile pipe 3.35 it
Mc Wane Cast Iron Pipe Company
750' - 6" pipe 2.17 ft.
600' - 8" " 3.10 "
200' - 8" ductile pipe 3.50 "
Motion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Nix that the City
accept low bid of American Cast Iron Pipe Company provided bid
meets specifications. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Nix seconded by Councilman Box that the City
accept new rate of Blue Cross - Blue Shield as presented. Motion
carried.
Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Robertson
teat the City advertise for public hearing on I-16nday, Octobe;i• 9,
1072 on rezoning from R-1 to B.-19 Lots 7, 8 & 9, Block 10,
Ingleside, provided 40 ft. of additional land be dedicated to th e
City on the East side and a 10 ft. planting with fence on the North
and West sides and the structure be compatible with surrounding
area. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Robertson that
the bills be approved for payment. 141otion carried.

at this time.
�?ayor Zacon appointed I,Lr. Chester Billie to the Planning and Zoning
Commission to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Claude Arnold who has
resigned. Mr. Billie's term to expire on 3I.iay 25, 1977•
Mlotion by Councilmen Box seconded by Councilman Robertson that the
City purchase 7.5 relief valves for metering station as required by
the Department of Transportation Safety Act. Mlotion carried.

I".ition by Councilman_ Box seconded by Councilman 3obertson that the
City upgrade Blue Island water line from i" to 6" at an approximate
cost of $1800.00. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Nix seconded by Councilman Box that the meet-
ing adjourn to meet on Wednesday, September 13, 1972 at 5:00 P.M.
to canvass the results of the election of September 12, 1972 and
any other business that might come before the City Council.
Motion carried.
