COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular
session at the City Administration Building,' 387 Fairhope
Avenues, Monday, April 10, 1972 at 7:30 P.M. with the following
members present: Mayor R C.l Macon, Councilmen: James Pei Nia,
John A.' Robertson, Henry Gil Bishop and Sam Be' Box.4 Councilman
Robert H: Cowen being absent.l
Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved:
Notion by Councilman Nix seconded by Councilman Robertson that
City request bids on Pick -Up truck, as per specifications of
Mr.� Ruge and Mr.4 Kirk,° for meter reading department.# Bids to
be opened at the next regular meeting of the Council ofApril
249` 1972:{ Notion carried:
Motion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Robertson that
Mr.' J. Sell Huet be reappointed to the Harbor Board for a three
year term: Notion carried.'
Notion by Councilman Robertson seconded by Councilman Box that
Mr.i Leslie Allen be appointed to the Recreation Board for a
term of five years ending March,` 1977' Notion carried:
The following nominations were made to fill vacancies on the
Industrial Development Boards
Councilman Bishop nominated Mr.� Michael Breedlove:
Hounoilman Nix nominated Mr. Byrd Lee Moore, -
Councilman Box nominated Mr Larry Merrihew
Councilman Robertson nominated Mr.' Ed Warley.n
There being no further nominations Councilman Nix moved,`
seconded by Councilman Robertson that the nominees be appointed
to the Industrial Development Board for a six year term:l Motion
carried:
Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Nix that
the following Resolution be adopted: Notion oarried."
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Fairhope,
Alabama have appointed new members to the Industrial Development
Board of the City of Fairhope, and
WHEREAS, heretofore the Industrial Development Board has
been without funds to investigate,' inform or show prospective
Industries different Industrial sites of the City of Fairhope,1
and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council are desirous of having an
active Industrial Board to function on behalf of the City of
Fairhope,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Industrial
Development Board of the City of Fairhope be and they are hereby
allowed to expend necessary funds, in reasonable amounts, for
the showing, informing and entertaining prospective industrialists,;
sites within the City of Fairhope for Industry and shall present
to the City Treasurer, itemized and verified statements of funds
so expended,. and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Treasurer be and she
is hereby authorized to make payment of same.

Notion by Councilman Boa seconded by Councilman Nix that the accept
low bid after evaluation of bids by the Purchasing Agent and City
Superintendent: Motion carried.'
Notion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Nix that the City
accept quotation in amount of $19°350.00 for General corrosion
survey of un4ergrOun4 gas distribution system submittted by
General Corrosion Servioes; Atlanta,, Ga. Motion carried,,
Notion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Box that the
bills be approved for payment: Notion carried.'
Notion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Robertson that
the City participate with Trinity Presbyterian Church in paving
alley between Church and parking lot by giving equal, in kind service
in form of sand clay base for whatever it will cost Church to pave
alley, Motion carried.!
Motion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Nix that fir.! R.41 C.'
Yohn be instructed to obtain map of City Park and draw bicycle
pathsin the area and presnet to Council., Notion carried:
Notion by Councilman Boa seconded by Councilman Nix that the City
request permission from owner of property at end, of Ingleside for
bicycle path across property in order to keep children off of
Green Road..' Motion carried.!
Notion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Nix that the City
extend 6 water line on Grand Avenue from alley at Mobile Street
Just North of Grand. Ave91 extend N0.4 on Mobile to Grand. and East
on Grand approximately 500 fta at an approximate cost of 02449.00.'
Motion carried.
Notion by Councilman Hog seconded by Councilman Nis that the
City extend gas line toward Mullet Point approximately 3000
feet to include 37 subscribers provided subscribers remit by
certified check to the City of Fairhope the cost of the gas
connections: Motion carried.'
