COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular
session at the City Administration Building on Monday, February
21, 1972 at 7;30 P. M. with following members present: Mayor R.
C. Macon, Councilmen: James P. Nix, John A. Robertson, Henry G.
Bishop and Sam E. Box. Councilman Robert H. Cowen being absent.
The following bids on tennis courts to be built at Greeno
Park were presented:

Motion by Councilman Robinson seconded by Councilman Nix
that City accept low bid of Valta Construction Company of Fair -
hope for tennis courts at Greeno Park providing bid includes
fencing and meets specifications. Motion carried.
Only oaD bid being received on -Fire Truck, Councilman Nix
moved, seconded by Councilman Box, that bid be opened. Upon
being put to vote the following vote was recorded. Voting yes:
Councilmen Nix, Bishop and Box. Voting no: Councilmen Robertson.
Councilman Cowen being absent. Motion carried.
Bid on Fire Truck:

Motion by Councilman Nix seconded by Councilman Bishop
that City accept bid of Jack Cocke & Company for fire truck and
equipment provided it meets specifications. Upon being put to
vote the following vote was recorded: Voting For: Councilmen:
Nix, Bishop and Box. Voting Against: Councilman Robertson.
Councilman Cowen being absent. Motion carried.
The following bids were received on Aerial Bucket and
accessories for Electric Department:

Motion by Councilman Nix seconded by Councilman Robertson
that City accept low bid of Altec, Inc. provided it meets spec-
ifications. Motion carried.
The following bids were received on 1972 Truck Cab/Chassis:

Motion by Councilman Robertson seconded by Councilman
Nix that City accept low bid of Gaston Motor Company, provided
it meets specifications. Motion carried.
It was duly moved and seconded that the meeting be ad-
journed.
'WHEREAS, the CITY 4F FAIRHOPE, Fairhope, Alabas:+a is desirous of con-
structinni, operating and maintaining a Municinai Golf Course, and
MEREAS , the prel i,rii nary plans have ;leer, completed and the City is
desirous of proceeding with the project.
T4EREFORE, SE IT RESGLVEJ that the "ayor and Citv Council does
approve of the said project, and desiras to proceed therewith.
E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the 'layor and Council have detemined that
the City is financially able to carry out it's part of the ohlination in con-
structinq, operating and ^aintaininc a 'Iwiicinal ;.olf Course.

Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman_ Box that.Mrs.
Phillips be employed on part time and trial basis. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Boxx seconded by Councilman Robertson that bill
of Waller Brothers for office furniture be approved for payment..
Voting Yes: Mayor Macon, Councilmen: Robertson, Bishop and Box.
Voting No: Councilman Nix. Councilman Cowen being absent. Motion
carried.
Motion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Robertson that the
City pay the Harbor Master $30.00 per month for expenses. Motion
carried.
Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Nix that the bills
be approved for payment. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Nix that in add-
ition to their present duties, Mack Yohn be appointed Assistant
Patrolman at a salary of $559.00 per month and Ray Jones to Assist-
ant Patrolman at $500.00 per month. Motion carried.
It was duly moved and seconded that the meeting adjourn to meet on
Monday,February 21, 1972 at 7:00 P.M. at the City .Administration
Building.

NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Notice is hereby given that the Assessment Roll or List,
prepared in accordance with the law in such cases made and
provided, under Ordinances entitled "IMPROVEMENT ORDINANCE
NOS. 447, 448 and 439;ORDINANCES TO PROVIDE FOR CERTAIN
IMPROVEMENTS ON SIMON STREET, PATLYNN DRIVE, WOODLANE COURT,
EVERGREEN STREET, NORTH INGLESIDE AVENUE, FORSTER AVENUE, COLE
COURT, KUMQUAT STREET, LAUREL STREET, MAPLE AVENUE, LIVE OAK
STREET, MARCA LANE, MYRTLE AVENUE, HOLLY DRIVE, OLIVE DRIVE,
AZALEA STREET, BON SECOUR AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE"
adopted on the 26th day of May, 1970 and confirmed as modified
on the 8th day of June, 1970, by the City ,-Council of the City
of Fairhope, Alabama, has been delivered to me and is open for
inspection in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Fairhope, Alabama, the person authorized to make collections
of assessments for improvements constructed under siad'Ordinances,
and that the City Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama, will
meet on the 13th day of March, 1972 at the City Administration
Building in the City of Fairhope, Alabama, at 7:30 P-M. to hear
and determine any objections, protests or defenses that may be
filed to such proposed assessments or the amounts thereof.
The general character of the improvements constructed under
said Ordinances consist�of both edges of a 25 foot roadway, the
centerline of which shall be approximately in the center of the
dedicated right of way shall be curbed and guttered with Port-
land Cement Concrete combined curb and gutter 6 inches thick
and 2.5 feet wide; the curb lines of said gutters shall be
connected with the curb lines of ofLall,7intersecting streets,
with Portland Cement concrete combined curb and gutter as above
described, of suitable radius and the surface between the
gutters to be constructed shall be improved by paving with
Bituminous Plant Mix 11 inches thick on a 6 inch compacted sand
clay foundations; said improvement shall include grading and all
necessary drainage structures, including concrete culverts,
concrete pipe, valley gutters and drop inlets; manholes of brick
with cast iron covers shall be constructed or reconstructed
where needed.
The streets, avenues, alleys or other highways or portions
thereof along which said Improvements have been constructed and
terminal points of said improvements are as follows, to -wit:
(a) SIMON STREET: From the north edge of existing pavement
on Edwards Avenue to the South Boundary of Central Boulevard,
585 linear feet, more or less.
(b) PATLYN DRIVE: From the north end of existing pavement
which is the South boundary of Gates Fairmont Subdivision No. 1
to the north boundary of Gates Fairmont Subdivision No. 1,
320 linear feet, more or less.
(c) WOODLANE COURT: From the west edge of proposed pavement
on Patlynn d)rive in Gates Fairmont Subdivision No. 1 to the
end of the cul-de-sac, 230 linear feet, more or less.
(d) EVERGREEN STREET: From the east edge of pavement on
North Ingleside Avenue east and north to the end of the cul-de-
sac in the third addition to Deep Tree Forest Subdivision,
800 linear feet, more or less.
(e)NORTH INGLESIDE AVENUE: From the north end of existing
pavement on North Ingleside Avenue to the North boundary of the
third addition to Deep Tree- Forest Subdivision, 125 linear
feet, more or less.

Present: Members Bung, Gates, Macon, Kirk, Box, Pitman
Absent: Chairman Parker, members Arnold, Frederick
Visitors: F. Laraway, L. Smith, J. Pope, M. Ford, H. Stearns,
R. George
In absence of chairman, Mr. Bung presided.
Minutes of previous meeting approved as read.
Secretary instructed in future to send copy of minutes to each
member prior to meeting, thus dispensing with reading of same.
Since this was the date advertised for public hearing on revi-
. Sion of subdivision regulations, the chair opened the meeting for
general discussion. Following discussion, Mr. Macon moved for the
adoption of the following resolution:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Fairhope,
Fairhope, Alabama is desirious of revising its subdivision regu-
lations, and
WHEREAS, a complete revision of the subdivision regulations
of Fairhope,Alabama ( a part of the comprehensive city plan)
has been prepared and approved by the Planning Commission of Fair-
hope,Alabama, and.
WHEREAS, a public hearing has been held thereon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the revised subdivision
regulations of Fairhope, Alabama( a part of the comprehensive
city plan) be, and the same are hereby adopted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy shall be certified by
the Commission to Probate Judge of Baldwin County, Alabama.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the revised subdivision regu-
lations take effect upon its adoption and publication as re-
quired by law.
ADOPTED this the 17th day of January, 1972

Mr. Pitman seconded the motion. Motion carried with all members
present voting aye.
Mike Eord, realtor, presented. plat of subdivision of property of
Mrs. Frank Coreno, located at 361 S. Mobile Avenue, into two parts,,
lot A and B; he requested preliminary and. final approval of same.
Hobert George, planning consultant, reported application and plat
in order.
Motion by Mr. Macon, seconded. by Mr. Gates, that preliminary and
final approval be given to Coreno subdivision as presented.
Motion carried.
Building inspector presented plans for proposed. building of Trinity
Presbyterian Church on South Mobile Avenue at Fig -street.
Motion by Mr. Gates, seconded by Mr. Macon, that building plans
of the Trinity Presbyterian,Church be approved subject to plat of
off-street parking space bei,'a'ttached to drawings and a favorable
review of blue prints being given by the planning consultant.
Motion carried..
