COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular ses
sion at the City Hall, Tuesday, January 272 1970 at 7z30 P.M., with,
the following members present: mayor R. C. Macon, Councilmen:
James P. Nix, Robert H. Cowen, Henry G. Bishop, John A. Robertson
and Sam E. Box.
Minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
Mr. Huet, Harbor Board, reported on progress at Fishing
(Dock on Fly Creek.
Motion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Bishop
that an additional $3,000.00 be allocated for completion of Fishe
men's Wharf. 41of10M. caYrl+-c,.
Motion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Cowen that
jif Baldwin County Board of Education will buy pipe, fixtures and
fire plug the City will install same and connect to water at the
Inew school location. Motion carried.
Mr. Barney Shull, Chairman of Recreation Board, presented
(Feasibility study on new Stadium for Council study.
Petition containing 38 names requesting gas line on Belforeot
Road was presented. Motion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilor n
Cowen that the City install gas line on South Belforest Road from
IFairhope Avenue to Walley's Store. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Nix seconded by Councilman Robertson
(that Superintendent be authorized to get bids on Distribution trans
formers and pole line hardware. Bids will be received until 7:30 Fj.M.
on February 9, 1970 at which time bids will be opened at the regulz
meeting of the City Council at the City Hall. mof idyt Ga. r rled
Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Box that
City Superintendent be authorized to proceed with plans for buildir
lat water purification plant. Motion carried.

Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Couien
that bill submitted by Capell, Howard, Knobe and Cobbs in the amour
of $644.15 be approved for payment. motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Nix seconded by Councilman Cowen that
necessary funds be appropriated to repair fire truck. motion
carried.
Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Roberts
that Ordinance No. 429, An ordinance Amending Ordinance No. 221, b)
repealing and deleting Schedule 63, Electricians, introduced at the
regular meeting of January 12, 1970, be adopted as introduced.

Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Nix that
:ity increase payment to Library by 10% and that the $1,200.00 cost
)f replacing air conditioners be paid from General Fund of the
:ity. motion carried.
It was duly moved and seconded that the meeting adjourn.
