HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-13-1967 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall Monday, November 1391967 at 7:30 p.m., with the fol- lowing members present: Mayor Macon, Councilmen Spader, Reynolds, Stipes, Gaston and Stine. Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved. Motion carried. otion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Gaston that Mr. lark Taylor be reappointed to the School of Organic Education Boar f Managers for a three year period ending November 99 1970. Motion arried. r. Barney Shull, Chairman of the Recreation Board, presented an perational budget for 1968 for Recreation funds. The Council com- ended Mr. Shull for his work as Chairman of the Recreation Board. Motion by Councilman Stine seconded by Councilman Reynolds that the City Council request the Recreation Board to check into the po sibility on an 1$ hold golf course for the City. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stine that City run 6" water main from the City Limits 1056' S. on Highway 98, Mr. Bradford agreeing to pay for cost of material and water line remaining property of the City. motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Stine that reque of Mrs. Malcolm to install steps on N. Church Street be approved with the understanding that the steps will be removed if the street is to be widened. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stine that pe mit be granted as requested by the Jay Ceetes, to sell candy at the Christmas parade. Motion carried. otion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman Reynolds that he bills be approved for payment. Motion carried. otion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Spader that the ollowing Resolution be adopted: Motion carried. ATTES RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Fairhope High School Football Team has just completed a 10 - 0 Season, and WHEREAS, the Fairhope High School Football Team are now the County Champions, and WHEREAS, the Coaching Staff and the individual players have displayed an outstanding desire to win and have displayed exemplary sportsmanlike conduct throughout this season, and WHEREAS, The Mayor and City Council of Fairhope, Ala., desire to show their appreciation for these efforts. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Council of the City of Fairhope highly commend the Coaching Staff and the individual players for their outstanding football season by this Resolution and extend to them their congratulations and appreciation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a Copy of this Resolution be spread.upon the Minutes at the regular Council Meeting of November 139 1967.
