HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-24-1967 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BA.LDWIN The City council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, July 24, 1967 at 7:30 P.M. with the followi members present: Mayor Macon, Councilmen: Reynolds, Stapes, Gaston and Stine. Councilman Spader being absent. Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved. Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stipes that the City Attorney check into the $5.00 charge for burial permit wit in the City of Mobile and its Police Jurisdiction for death in the City of Mobile and burial in Baldwin County. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Stine that the City sell airport beacon not in use to the City of Bay Minette for the sum of $350.00. Beacon to be sold as is with no cost to the City of Fairhope for removal. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Reynolds that Moore Engineering be authorized as official representative to submit preliminary report on proposed Municipal Pier and recreatio- nal ficilities. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Stine that the City accept low bid of J. Dudley Wade for removing Casino building and that the Mayor be authorized to sign contract as stipulated at Council meeting and drawn up by the City Attorney. Upon being put to vote the following vote was recorded: For: Councilmen: Stipes, Gaston and Stine. Against: Councilman Reynolds. Councilman Spader being absent. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stine that City purchase 4KV metering equipment in our Morphy Avenue and Volan- Avenue substation from Riviera Utilities at a cost of $3,549.78. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stine that Moore Engineering be authorized to give cost estimate of supplying fill dirt and leveling for installation of T hangers at Municipal Airport. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stine seconded by Councilman Gaston that the following Ordinance be introduced. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 381 BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Fairhope, Alabama that .ny physician, hospital, clinic, nursing home or other place where .edical aid is rendered, being called upon to treat a case of gun.-; hot wound, knife wound, fight wound or any other type of wound, hether self-inflicted or otherwise caused by violence, or to whose nowledge the existence of such a case comes, shall immediately eport the same to the Chief of Police of Faikr hope, Alabama, pecifying the character of the wound, the name and locality of the atient, together with such details as rty be required by the Chief f Police of Fairhope, Alabama, and a report hereunder shall not ender the person, firm or corporation giving the same liable in ny manner. Failure to comply with this Ordinance must, on conviction, be fined not less than ten nor more than fifty dollars. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Gaston that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried. 1 Mayor Attest: 5i, , I . ity Clerk ORDINANCE NO.Z BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Fairhope, Alabama that any physician, hospital, clinic, nursing home or other place where medical aid is rendered, being called upon to treat a case of gunshot wound, knife wound, fight wound or any other type of wound, whether self-inflicted or otherwise caused by violence, or to whose knowledge the existence of such a case comes, shall immediately report the same to the Chief of Police of Fairhope, Alabama, specifying the character of the wound, the name and locality of the patient, together with such details as may be required by the Chief of Police of Fairhope, Alabama, and a report hereunder.shall not render the person, firm or corporation giving the same liable in any manner.
