HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-26-1967 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, June 26, 1967 at 7:30 P.M. with the following members present: Mayor Macon, Councilmen: Spader, Reyno Stipes, Gaston and Stine. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved. Mr. Crane of Thornton, Farish and Gauntt, Inc., and Mr. Henry presented Resolution appointing Medical Clinic Board for Council consideration and approval. After general discussion, Mayor Macon asked if there was a motion on the REsolution as presented by Mr. Crane. No motion being made the Mayor declared the discussion closed. Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stine that the City accept low bid of Foley Tractor Company, presented at regular meeting of June 12, 1967, for Massey -Ferguson Tractor, Model MF21359 and backhoe at a cost of $49809.00 as recommended by the City Superintendent. Moj;ion carried. The Exiecutive Assistant was authorized to advertise for bids to demolish the Fairhope Casino. Bids to be opened at the regular meeting of the City Council on July 10, 1967. Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stipes that t Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to cash $259000.00 Electric Savings Certificate and transfer to the General Fund. Motion carried. Mr. John Duck, City Attorney, reported that the City cannot legall operate ambulance service. Mayor Macon appointed Councilmen Stine and Gaston to investigate ambulance service for the City and repor at the nexit regular meeting of the City Council. The Council agreed that no campers or trailers be allowed on beach area at this time due to lack of space and proper facilities. Request for permission to install two gas pumps at Superior Hard- ware was referred to the Building Inspector. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Reynolds that permission be granted Sea Scouts to use City land on Volanta Eve., between I. Reynolds property and the Fairhope Yacht Club, until such time as it is needed by the City. Motion carried. It was duly moved and seconded that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
