HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-13-1967 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall on Monday, march 13, 1967 at 7:30 p.m., with the following present: mayor R. C. Macon, Councilmen: Spader, Stipes, Reynolds, and Gaston, Councilman Stine arriving at 8:00 p.m. Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Gaston that Mr:'G. K. Burton be reappointed to the Recreation Board for a five (5) year term. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman Stipes that the application of Harold M. Sellars to sell packaged beer at Sellar's Grovery on North Section Street be approved. Upon being put to vote the following vote was recorded: For: Councilman Gaston, Stipes and Reynolds. Against: Councilman Spader, Council- man Stine absent. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Spader seconded by Councilman Reynolds that the following Ordinance be introduced as recommended by the Plan- ning and Zoning Commission. Motion carried. OR DINANCE #375 An Ordinance amending Section 13 of Zoning Ordinance #295. Be It Ordined by the City Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama that Section 13, District Boundaries of Zoning Ordinance #295 be amended as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Com- mission by rezoning the following described property from R-1 to M-1: PARCEL 1: From the Southwest corner of Section 16, Township 6 South Range 2 East, run East 250 feet to a railroad spike; thence run North 15 feet to the North side of Nichols Street; the POINT OF BEGINNING; Thence continue North 350 feet to a 3/4"C Copper pipe; thence run East 150 feet to, a well point; thence run South 350 feet to the North side of said Nichols Street; thence run West along the North side of Nichols Street, 150 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. Parcel contains 1.2 acres more or less, and lies in the SW* of Section 16, T6S, R2E, Baldwin County, Alabama. PARCEL 2s From the Southwest Corner of Section 16, Township 6 South Range 2 East, run East 250 feet to a railroad spike; thence run North 365 feet -to a 3/4 inch copper pipe; the POINT OF BEGINNING, Thence run East 150 feet to a well point; thence run North 298.8 feet to a 2 inch iron pipe; thence run nest 150 feet to a 1i inch pipe, the Northeast corner of Jansen Mfg. Co.; thence run South 298.7 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. Parcel contains 1.02 acres more or less, and lies in the SWj of Section 16, T6S, R2E, Baldwin County, Alabama. Lying Approximately 250 feet East of South Greeno Blvd., and running North 648.8 feet from Nichols Street. 1V Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Spader that all 'Purchase Orders must be signed by Howard Ruge, Pruchasing Agent, Jack Kirk, General Sup t., or Marie Moore, City Clerk, before purchasing any item or purchase orders will not be honored by the City. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stine seconded by Cpuncilman Reynolds that the bills be approved for payment. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Stine that Charles Edward Dean be employed as patrolman with the Police Dept: motion carried. Upon motion, seconded and passed, meeting adjourned.
