at City Hall, Monday, December 139 1965 at 7:30 p.�m.•, with the
following members presents Mayor Maoon, Councilmen; Gaston,
Stipes, Reynolds and Stine, Councilman Spader being absent.'
The minutes of previous regular meeting were approved.
Mayor Macon stated that it being the belief of a majority of
the Council that the appointment of an individual member of the
Council to an advisary position with each of the department
heads would be of benefit to the various departments, and will
bring about both better cooperation and efficiency, I am of this
date appointing these cooperative advisors as follows:

Motion by Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Counoilman Stipes that
the City advertise for bids for new truck for gas department as
per City specifications. Two bids to be submitted, with trade-
in and without trade-in. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Gaston, seconded by Councilman Stipes that
the City purchase a Scotch Lite Vacuum Applicator for making
street signs at a cost of $350,009 and approximately $650-DO wdth"
of materials. Motion earrJed.
Notion by Councilman Stine, seconded by Councilman Reynolds that
Moore Engineering Co., be authorized to proceed with'�'1966 Paving
Pr6gram as per contract agreement dated _October 26, 1964, Motion
carried.
Motion by Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilman Stine that
the following Ordinance be introduced; Motion carried.,
ORDINANCE #346
An ordinance Amending Zoning Ordinance #295,
Be it Ordained by the City Council of the
City of Fairhope, Alabama, that Section 13,
District Boundaries of Zoning Ordinance
#295 be amended as'reeommended by the Plan-
ning and Zoning Commission by rezoning the
following described property from R-2 to
B-2 ;
From the Southeast corner of the inter-
section of Church Street and Belmar St.r,
(De Le Mare) in the City of Fairhope, Ala,,,
run East along the South side of Delmar St.,
135 feet, for a POINT OF BEGINNING; thence
run South 55.7 feet; thence run East 60
feet; thence run South 111.3'feet; thence
run East 118 feet to a point due South of
the SE Corner of LOt 59 Block 139 division
1, lands of the F. S. T. C. ; thence run No.
167 feet to Delmar Street; thence run West
178 feet; more or less to the POINT OF

Motion by Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilman Stipes
that the City dispense with Council Meeting on December 279
1965.E Motion Carried.
Motion by Councilman Stipes, seconded by Councilman Reynolds
that the City Clerk be instructed to prepare list of all
City Funds and where they are deposited for neat regular e4t-
meeting of the Council.' Motion Carried.
Motion by Councilman Stine, seconded by Councilman Gaston,
that the bills be approved for payment. Motion carried.4
Motion by Councilman Gaston, seconded by Councilman Reynolds
that City place $30.00 Ad with Jaycees, Upon being put to
vote, the following vote was recorded: For: Councilmen
Gaston, Reynolds and Stipes, Against$ Councilman Stine.
Councilman Spader being absent.' Motion carried.
Merit System Ordinance was read by the City Attorney with a
general discussion following but no action taken.
Motion by Councilman Reynolds, seconded by Councilman Stine
that the meeting adjourn. Motion ir ied.
