COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at
the City Hall, Monday, November 220 1965 at 7:30 P.M. with the
following members presents Mayor Macon, Councilmen: Spader, Reynolds,
Stipes, Gaston and Stine.,
The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved.
Mayor Macon appointed Mr. Marvin Berglin to the Board of Managers
of the School of Organic Education for a period of three years
ending November 9, 1968.
Letter from residents on South Liberty Street requesting street
light was discussed and final action withheld until street light
is available.
Percy Dale met with the Council in regards to Beer Permit which
has been revoked., Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Council-
man Reynolds that this meeting be continued and reconvened on
Wednesday, November 249 1965 at 7:30 P.M. and that the City Recorder,
Police Chief and City Attorney be present with the Mayor and Council
to find out why and who issued a Beer Permit to Percy Dale which
was not authorized by the City Council and which is in direct
violation of City Ordinances. Upon being put to vote the following
vote was recorded: Voting For: Counoilmens Stine, Stipes, Reynolds
and Spader Councilman Gaston abstained from voting. Motion
carried.
Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Gaston that
the Council uphold the Mayor's ruling to suspend the Beer Permit
of Percy Dale until hearing is held. Motion oarried.
A"Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stipes that the
City run 8" water line approximately 1350 ft. from Nichols Street
to Greeno and a 6" water line on Young Street to City Limits
approximately 900 fto to supply water to the South Baldwin Water
Authority subject to approval of their loan. Motion carried.

Mr. John Craigmet with the Council protesting PaAg assessment/
on Pensacola ATenue. Referred to the City Attorney and action to
be taken at the nexxt regular meeting of the Council.,
Mr. Wainwright requested permission to set up skating rink on
Stimpson Field. Survey to be made and action taken at meeting on
November 24, 1965.
Motion by Councilman Stine seconded by Councilman Stipes that the
City accept offer of Mr. Wm. B. Crane of Thornton, Farish and
Gauntt, Inc., Investment Bankers, as Fiscal Agent for the City*
Notion carried.
Motion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman Stipes that
the City install the necessary radio equipment to work with the
Radio Patrol, Flotilla and Sherrifs Posse. Councilman Spader and
Chief Gilheart to report to the Council on equipment.
Motion by Councilman Spader seconded by Councilman Stipes that the
City correct drainage problem on the North side of Bayou Drive in
the vicinity of the Armory. Motion carried.

Notion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Spader that
the City authorize purchase of Council table as per bid submitted
by Mr. Phil Yoas. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Reynolds that
the meeting adjourn in unadjourned session to meet on Wednesday,
November 24, 196,E at 7:30 P.M. Motion carried.

CITY COUNCIL
FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA
We,the undersigned, request the City of Fairhope to cause to
have built a waterway approximately 150 feet long and 60 feet wide
with appropriate dockage at Fly Creek. Each docking space should
be accessible by truck. Such dockage to have adequate lighting and
water furnished by the City.
We agree to rent -such dockage at $40.00 a space per year, pay-
able $10.00 quarterly.
We believe this plan to be feasible and profitable, also an
asset to the community.
At this date we have eight individuals requesting; docking space
for this amount.
To the best of our knowledge this plan could be put into effect
for approximately V4OOo aT .
