HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-08-1965 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY' OF BALDWIN The City'Coun611 of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall,- Monday, November 89,, 1965 with the fdlowing members present: Mayor Macon, Councilman: Spader, Reynolds, Stipes,` Gaston and Stine.' The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved*'; A petition and plan was presented to build waterway approx- imately 150 feet long,and 60 feet wide with appropriate dockage at Fly Creek91 docking space to be accessible by truck: Petition signed by eight fishermen.t Mayor Macon requested the City Engineer, Harbor Board and John Henry to meet with members of the Council to study plan and.report at next meeting of the City Council,' A request by eight families to install gas line on South Young Street was discusse Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stipes that George Dyson be authorized to install gas line as requested. Motion carried The following bids were received on gas pipes Le,' Be, Foster Company 159000 fti+ 3/4 " ® 015-45 C Ft, 69000.m1" ® 2, 000 ft.l 2." ® 384`55 " 2% - 10 days Consolidated Pipe 159000 ft.' 3/4 " 69000 - ft. 1" ' 29000 ft., 2 u Net 10 days$ and Supply Company: 0 $16.00 C Ft. ® 22.'00 " 40.'00 Motion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman Stine that the City accept low bid of L.� Bo, Faster Co.' for truck load of gas pipe as per City specifications., Motion carried,' Motion by Councilman Spader seconded by Councilman Reynolds that the City purchase the remaining lease term held by the American Legion Post #335 on building located on the Young Street playground as requested by the Recreation Board at a cost of #1200:00.' I40tion carried: Notion by Councilman Stine seconded by Councilman Gaston that the Airport Board be authorized to negotiate for purchase of approximately 45 acres of additional land to extend runway at 0--4- the Manleipal Airport: Motion carried.' Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Gaston that the bills be approved for payment. Notion carried: Motion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman Spader that the meeting adjouan.
