HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-10-1965 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF RAT WIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, May 10, 1965 at 7:30 P. M. with the following members present: Mayor Macon, Councilmen: Spader, Reynolds, Stipes, Gaston and Stine. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved. Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Gaston that up to $400,00 be allotted for fireworks for the 4th of July. Notion carried unanimously. The Mayor appointed B1 Benik, Jack Kirk and Joe Odom as a committee to select fireworks. This being date set for opening bids on Police car the following bids were received: Gaston Motor Co. $ 2,292,60 With Trade -In.. ...... . 1,592.60 Klumpp Motor Co. 29251.24 With Trade -In......... 19750.00 Carey & Mike Motor Cc... 29575.00 No Trade -In - Notion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Reynolds that the low bid of Gaston Motor Co. in the amount of $1,592.60 be accepted on Police car as per specifications. Upon being put to vote the following vote was recorded: Voting for: Councilmen: Reynolds, Stipes and Stine. Voting against: None. Councilmen Gaston and Spader abstained from voting. Notion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Spader that the City Clerk be authorized to transfer $309000.00 from the Electric Fund to the General Fund. Motion carried unanimously. Motion by Councilman Stine seconded by Councilman Spader that Ordinance # 337, Part IV - Housing, Southern Standard Building Code, 1960 - 1961 Edition, be adopted as introduced at the regular meeting of April 289 1965. Upon being put to vote the following vote was recorded: Voting for: Councilmen Spader, Reynolds, Stipes, Gaston and Stine. Voting against: None. Notion carried. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Spader that the bills be approved for payment. Motion carried unani- mously. Motion by Councilman Stine seconded by Councilman Spader that the following Resolution be adopted. Motion carried unani- mously. RESOLUTION STATING APPROVAL OF SPANISB LANE HIGHWAY BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Cit FORT - FAIRHOPE FOUR - y BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Fairhope does agree with any plans the Highway Department of the State of Alabama might have to accomplish the construc- tion of this four -lane highway and that the road program of the Honorable Geerge C. Wallaoe, Governor of Alabama, in its method of accomplishing the construction of said four -lane highway, meets with the firm approval of the City of Fairhope and its citizens.
