City Council
City of Fairhope
Fairhope, Alabama
Gentlemen:
We, the undersigned, members of the Recreation Board, City
of Fairhope, do hereby tender our resignation from the Board
effective immediately. We offer this resignation because,
among other reasons, we feel that the present Administration
should be free to establish new policies for the Board as well
as to make such appointments as it may wish to make.
Unequivocably, we feel that all actions taken by the Recreation
Board have been for the best interest of the citizens of Fairhope.
We have served under two city administrations with most pleasant
cooperation and with one common purpose - - the interest of the
people of this area. The many thousands of dollars expended by
the Board, since its origin, have been spent with unanimous ap-
proval of the Board and with a definite sense of public trust.
We are most grateful to former Mayors Overton and Schneider,
members of their council, the Fairhope Courier and the numerous
individuals,"who also served" in making the recreation program
a success. We are also grateful to Mr. Harry Anderson for his
able and devoted efforts in behalf of the Board as Director
for the Program.
We feel certain that this Administration will appoint competent
replacements to the Board. We sincerely hope that the policies
established by this Administration will continue to provide
proportionately for the children, youth and elder citizens of
the community.
Respectfully submitted
