December 10, 1962: at 700 P.M. wi th the: fo11 owing members presents Mayor Schnetder, Councilment Boone, Gaston, Nelson,. Poser and Schermer. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read and approved as read:. At the meeting of November I I ,. 1962 the vote on a mot ton by Counci [man Boone seconded by Councilman Poser relating to Parking Meters on the Leach resulted to a tie. Mayor Schneider brought the motion up for discussion and cast his vote against the motion thereby breaking the tie and defeating, the motionr.. Motion by Counc i I man Schermer seconded? by Counc i I men Nel soni that the C i tyj Attorney be Instructed by the Council to work with the Mayor in securing the best possible deal with Dual. Parking Meter Company in returning parking meters and settling parking meter problem. Upon being puff to vote the fo li 1 owi ng vote was reoo rdedr For: Councilman: Schermer, Nelson and Gaston.. Againatr Councilmen fJoser and Boone. Motion carried. Mot ton by Counci Iman Ne I son seconded by Counci Iman Poser that the C i ty C lark be authorized to transfer balance of i3050.03 in the Waster and Sewer Construction Fundy in the Bank of Fa i rhope to the Waster and Sewer Operating Account to pay final bill of Gu i n and Hunt, Inc. for sewer outfal l line. Motion carried. Motion by Counc i I man Nei son seconded by Counci Iman Schermer that the City cancel I� 50% of the Assembly of God Church gars bi 11 for period arming November 19 due to fact that there was an escape of gas that was not used by the church. Upon being put to vote the f allowing vote was recordedr Fort Counc-i Imens Nelson and Schermer. Against: Counci lmen:, Boone, Gaston and Poser. Motion, defeated,* The Airport Committee reported on progress being made toward an) airport. Motion by Councilman Poser seconded by Councilman Boone that -the Mayor be authorized,to sign contract dated December 10, 1962 with Byrd L. Moore & Co. for preparing plens and specifications and furn ishin%consulting servie:es to complete a City Garage. Motion carried* Mot i on Councilman Boone seconds# by Counc.i Iman Schermer that Ordinance #� ertt i fl edi "Zoning and: Mobile Home Park. Ordinance of they City of Fa i rhope*, cover i ngCthe C ity L i rwi is and Police Jurisdiction, be introduced. Motion carried. Upon passage this Zoning Ordinance will repeal the previous zoning ordinance and all ordinances in conflict with it. Motion carried, Rmcbmw Drainage problem on North Section Street near Reynolds property was referred to Mayor Schneider and Counci Iman Some for study. Letter from State Military Department on Armory fees was read to the meeting. A request for'outsidee gas I ilghts on Seca C 1 if was tabled. Letter of appreciation from the P. T. A. of the Elementary School was read to the Council. Motion by Councilman Schermer seconded by Councilman Boone that the following bi I,la be approved for paymentr Motion carried.
