The City (-ouncil of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the
City Hall, Monday, May 9, 1960 with the following members presents
Mayor E. B. Overton, pity Manager C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: C.F. Belew,
M. 0. Berg in, W. 0. Poser, t�j. R. Ruff Ies and B. L. ShuI I.
Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Shull that the minutes
of the previous regular meeting be approved as read. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilmen Shull seconded by Councilman Belew that the following
Ordinance Be adopted: Motion carried.
ORDINANCE # 267
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION SEVEN - GENERAL REQUIREMENTS,
PARAGRAPH 3(f).
BE IT DRDA I NEDrSY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FA I RHOPE, ALA.
THAT SECTION SEVEN, PARAGRAPH 3(f) be amended to read as: follows:
(f) Cull -de -sacs: shall not exceed six hundred. (600) feet in I'ength
except where geography, topography, or other relation to the street
and block layout of the immediate vicinity make greater length
necessary. Each cul-de-sac shall be provided with a turnaround
not less than one hundred (100) feet in diameter of right-of-way
at the closed end.
Approved and adopted this the 9th day of -May, 1960.

Councilman Belen moved that the rules be suspended and unanimous consent
be given for immediate consideration,of and action on said Ordinance, which
motion was seconded by Councilman Poser and upon being put to vote the
following vote was recorded: Voting for: Mayor Overton, Councilmen:
Bel.ew, Berglin, poser, Ruffles and Shull. Voting Against: None. The Mayor
thereupon declared that the motion f6rr unanimous consent for immediate
consideration of and action on said Ordinance has been unanimously carried.
Councilman Berglin thereupon moved: that the said Ordinance be finalby
adopted; which motion was seconded by Councilman Shull and upon said motion
being put to vote the following vote was .recorded: Voting For: Mayor
Overton, Councilmen: Belew, Berglin, Poser, Ruffles and Shull. Voting
Against: None. The Mayor then announced that the motion for adoption of
said Ordinance had been unanimously carried and signed the same in approval
thereof.
Mr. Yoas met with the Council regarding business license for Bowling Alley
at the Fa i rhope Casino.
Mr. Dyson met with the Council in regards to extending gas line in Lake
Forest, Third Addition. Council authorized Mr. Dyson to make the extension.
Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Shull that Jack Kirk
be authorized to purchase a one ton Ford 6 cylinder cab and chassis with
McCabe Powers L4-104 utility body and: HL 31 hydraulic ladder at an approximate
cost of $5,400.00. Motion carried.
C Iaude Arnold of Fai rhope Title and Survey met with the Counci I. regarding
underground drainage in the vicinity of Valley Drive and estimated the
engineering cost at $1300.00. The Council agreed that the City would
furnish labor provided the property owners pay cost of engineering and
furnish materials.
Motion by councilman Poser seconded by Councilman Belew that the City
Manager be authorized to purchase reconditioned International Crawler Tractor
with Loader from Ray -Brooks Machinery Company for 85„000.00 and used. loader.
Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Poser that the City
Manager and George Dyson be authorized to purchase small pump for jeting
piling provided equipment and price is satisfactory to them. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Shull that the following
bills be approved for payment: Motion carried.
