County of Baldwin
The City C ounciI of the City of Fairhope meet in regular session, Monday,
March 14, 1960 with the following members present: Mayor E. B. Overton,
City Manager C. B. Niemeyer„ Councilmen: Belew:, Ruffles and Shull,
Councilmen Berglin and Poser being absent.
Motion by Councilman Ruffles seconded by Councilman ?hull that the minutes
of the previous regular meeting be approved as read. Motion carried.
Mr. Vallentim presented claim for damages to his car,.akWXIZ=se Turned over
to the City Attorney.
Motion by Councilman Ruffles seconded by Councilman Shull that the applica-
tion of Howard Martin for addition to house at 156 Orange Street be approved.
Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Ruffles seconded by Councilman Belew that the City
donate $750.00 to send five volunteer firemen to Alabama Fire College
at the University of Alabama, April 10 thru 16. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman $hull seconded by Councilman Belew that off street
parking be waived and permit granted to A. M. Gates to build commercial
building or. part of Lot 5. Block 6, Division 1. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Shull seconded by Councilman Belew that the City furnish
grade and specifications for sidewalk on Johnson Street provided property
owners install sidewalk at their expense. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Shull seconded by C ouncilman Belew that the street
running south from Gayfer Court in Mason -Brown Subdivision be name k
"Circle Drive". Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Belew seconded by Councilman Ruffles that George
Dyson be authorized to purchase•30,000 feet of coated pipe as per lowest
bid submitted. Motion carried..
Motion by Councilman Ruffles seconded by Councilman Shull that the salary
of the City Attorney be increased to $1,00.00 per month and that he act as
Court Recorder effective April 1, 1960. Motion carried.
