HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-23-1959 Regular Meeting`'TATE OF ALABAMA County of Ba I dwi n The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, Nov. 23, 1959 with the followinc members present: Mayor E. B. Overton, C i ty A^.anager C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: Be l ew', Berglin, Poser, Ruffles and Shull. Motion by Councilman Ruffles seconded by Councilman Berglin that the minutes of the previous regular meeting be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Ruffles that the application for building permit of Dr. H. C. ,Mullins be approved as submitted. Motion carried. Bids on fire hose and equipment were opened and discussed by the Council. Mayor Overton appointed Councilman Below as Chairman, C ouncil^ian Poser and Jack Kirk as a committee to draw up specifications on fire hose and ge-t the requirements of Underwriters as to number of feet of 2�1 and 1— hose needed to meet their standards. A letter from Mr. Hawie's Attorney requesting that the City allow the Bowling Alley to be reppened was read Pnd discussed. I,t was the opinion of the Council that the Fire Marshal would have to give Mr. Hawie permission to reopen. The bill of W. C. Beebe Estate was held for further consideration. Motion by Councilman Poser- seconded by Councilman Shull the t Vie City accent bid of 0455.91 of H1 G. Sandoz to reroof the Red Cross Building providing the roof meets maximin specifications. motion carried. A letter from the Town of Loxley requesting that the City advise them if Fairhope could furnish them with Natural Gas and give, them a letter to that off'ect, City Manager C. S. Niemeyer, Geroge Dyson and Frank Wiggins to meet with the Loxley Council at their next meeting. Motion by Councilman Poser seconded by C ounc i I -nan Be I e%v that the meeting adjourn.
