HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-25-1959 Regular MeetingSTATE OF I&LASAMA1 COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hail. Monday, May 25. 1959 with the following members presents Mayor E. B. Overton, City Manager (;. B. Niemeyer, C ouncilmens Below, Ruffles and Shull. Councilmen Berglin and Poser being absent. Motion by Councilman Shull seconded by Councilman Below that the minutes of the previous regular meeting be approved as read. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Ruffles seconded by Councilman Below that the applica- tion for building permit of Charles Fell be approved. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Shull seconded by Councilman Below that the application for building permit of J. A. Foster at 121 Magnolia Avenue be approved. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Below seconded by Councilman Shull that the three undermined trees on park property at the foot of White Avenue be removed. Motion carried. Councilman Shull; introduced the following Ordinance which was seconded by Councilman Ruffles and read to the meetings ORDINANCE NO. 260 BE 1T ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, AS FOLLOWSs SECTION Is It shall be unlawful for any person in the City of Fairhope to carry concealed about his person a bowie knife, a knife fitted with a mechanical device for automatic release of the blade or locking of the blade in an open position, any knife of whatever nature containing a blade more than three inches long, or any other knife or instrument of like kind or description, or any air gun, slingshot, brass knuckles, straight edge razor, or any other deadly or dangerous weapon. SECTION 2s Any person convicted of Violating this ordinance shall be f i ned' not less than $ 1,00 or more than $ 100:00 and may be sentenced to imprisonment or hard labor for the City of Fairhope, either or both, for not more than 90 days.
