HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-13-1959 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA County of Baldwin The Gity Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, April 13, 1959 with the following members present: Mayor E. Be Overton, City Manager C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: C. F. Below, M. 0. Berglin, W. 0. Poser, W. R. Ruffles, Jr. and Be L. Shull. Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Below that the minutes of regular meting of March 23 and meeting of March 30, 1959 be approved as read. Mrs. Helmer requested a building permit on Nichols Street which was re— ferred to the Adjustment Board. Motion by Councilman Below seconded by Councilman Berglin that the Gity Council authorize Byrd L. Moore and Company to hire an Inspection Company for adequate inspection on Street Improvements under Ordinance M4. The I n spec t i on C ompany i s to, be respons a b l e to the C I ty a I, ong w i th Moore Engineers. The cost to be paid by the City is not to exceed lye of the total cost of construction. Upon being put to vote the following vote was recorded. Voting Yes: Councilmen: BeIew, Berglin, Ruts, Poser and Shull. No: None. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Ruffles seconded by Councilman Shull that the City Gas Department place a one page ad In the Souvenir Program of Baldwin County Sesquicentennial. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Bel'ew seconded by C ounciImam Shull that the application of km**il*xg Robert Mason for building permit be rejected. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Ruffles seconded by Councilman Belew thbt the application, of George Stej'skal for building permit be approved 20t from Belongs& Street. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Ruffles seconded by Councilman Poser that the Mayor appoint a committee to study the possibility of the pity assisting financially on the new Hospital. Motion carried. The Mayor then appointed the following committees W. R. Ruffles, Jr., M. 0. Bergllin and W. 0. Poser. Mr, Joe Hipsh presented application for dockage in Fly Crook on north side of north slip to accommodate three boats. Appbication filed for future reference. Motion by Councilman Ruffles secondled by Councilman Shull that the following bills be approved for payment: Motion carried.
