HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-08-1958 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA County of Baldwin The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, December 8, 1958 with the following members present: Mayor E . B. Overton, City Manager C . B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: C . F . Belew, "'% 0. Poser, Wm. R. Ruffles, Jr. and Barney L. Shull. Councilman PA. 0. Berglin being absent. Minutes of the regular meeting of November 24, 1958 and meeting of December 2, 1958 were read. Motion by Councilman Shull seco nded by Councilman Belew that minutes be approved as rend. Motion carried. Mr. Harris of Smith, Dukes and Buckalew, met with the Council in regards to the annual audit. A committee from the Volunteer Fire "erartment met with the Council. 'lotion by Councilman Relew seconded by Councilman Shull that the Council appropriate 1100.00 each,, in addition to "50.00 expenses, for five firemen to attend fire school. Motion carried. A committee representing the Chamberof Commerce ^let with the Council in regards to business license. The Business License committee recommended that a portion of Schedule 115 be amended to read: Merchants: General Merchandise, including all and every character or kind of goods or services, wares and merchandise not otherwise separately and specifically listed on this act. Motion by Counc i Dian Poser seconded by Council an Shull that the City Manager be authorized to have the 1.957 Ford Police car repaired as per estimate. Motion carried. Insurance for city employees was discussed and held for meetint of January 12, 1959- Motion by Councilman Belew seconded by Councilman Poser that the following bills be approved for payment: Motion carried.
