City Clerk
Report of visit to Beaclr Theatre, Fairhope, Ala.
At the request of the Mayor and Council of The City of Fairhope, Ala.
and under the Direction of Dr. W. Bruce Nelson, Baldwin County Health Officer,
the writer inspected the sanitary facilities at the old Beach Theatre at
Fairhope, on Monday, November 4.
The purpose of the visit was to determine if the lift pump was
operative at this time.
Findings:
These findings aree based on present conditions, and also my know-
ledge of the working condition just prior to closing of the theatre.
I. The sump tank is of metal construction and appears•to be wateir
tight. The lids are rusted off the hinges.
2. The pump looses its prime and the automatic controls are
inoperative.
Recommendations&
I. Repair sump lids to make them fly tight and also bring above
ground level so that rain water will not run into sump. These lids
should be of concrete slab construction in small sections to facilitate
handling.
2. Change system of stop valves, or ether method of hookup, so that
pump wJ 1 1 not loose its. prime.
3. Make necessary repairs to the automatic controls to make them
operative.
4. That if sanitary facilities are not provided for this establish-
ment it should not be allowed to open for business.
C.. K. Zehner
Sanitation Officer
