County of Baldwin
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the
City Hall, Monday, October 28, 1957 with the following members present!
Mayor E. B. Overton, City Manager C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: C. F. Belew,
M. 0. Berglin, J.F. McDaniel, Wm. R. Ruffles, Jr. and B. L. Shuil.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting were read. Motion by Council-
man Ruffles seconded by Councilman Belew that the minutes of the previous
meeting with reference to the vacation of a portion of Railroad Avenue be
ammended to read as followst
AND WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fairhope;, Alabama
desires to assent to the vacation of that portion of Railroad
Avenue above ditscribed;
Motion carried.
Mr. Zahner and Mr. Camp of theBaldwin County Health Department met with the
Council to request that the City increases their appropriation to the Baldwin
County Health Department to $55.00 per month. Motion by M. Councilman Ruffles
seconded by Councilman Belew that the City appropriate $55.00 per month
to the Health Department effective with the November, 1957 payment. Motion
carried.
Mr. Wainwright's request for Skating Rink on the beach was referred to the
Jr. Chamber of Commerce.
Motion by Councilman Belew seconded by Councilman McDaniel that the City
Business License on the Pan -Am Statiotr be transferred to Mr. Coltrain for
the balance of this year. Motion carried.
Motion by C ounc i I man McDaniel seconded by C ounc i I man Ruffles that the next
regular meeting of the City Council on November II be postponed to
November 12, 1957 at 7130 P.M. Motion carried.
Letter received requesting resurfacing of the Tennis Courts. was referred
to the Recreation Board.
Motion by Councilman McDaniel secondied by Councilman Ruffles that the
meeting adjourn. Motion carried.

Frederick.

adoption by the City Council at the next Council meeting

cordation.

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairhope,
dwin County, Alabama as follows:
WHEREAS, there is presented an instrument of declaration in
iting duly executed and acknowledged by T. J. Klumpp, Sr. and Mare
oore as Mayor and City Clerk, of the City of Fairhope, respectivelk,
ch instrument conveys to Paul A. Frederick and Esther Frederick
the following described real property, to -wit:
That portion of Railroad Avenue running southeastwardly from
the south line of Rosa Avenue to the southwest corner of Lot
15, Block 22, being according to map of Volanta as per plat
thereof recorded in the Probate Records of Baldwin County, Ala-
bama, in Miscellaneous Book One, Page 341, and being further
described as being bounded on the north by the south line of
said Rosa Avenue, on the northeast by Block 22 as shown on
said map of Volanta, on the south by a westwardly continuation
of the south line of said Block 22 to Block 23 on said Map of
Volanta and on the southwest by said Block 23; being located
in the City of Fairhope, Alabama; the consideration for this
deed is an exchange of the above lands for more suitable lands
for street purposes and a relocation of the street;
AND WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama
esires to assent to the vacation of that portion of Railroad Ave

NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Fairhope, acting by and through itsl
ity Council, does hereby assent to the vacation of said strip of
and as recorded in the plat thereof in the Office of the Judge of

AND, the said City Council of the City of Fairhope does hereby
uthorize and empower its City Clerk to prepare and deliver to Paul
